We often receive questions regarding the actual pressure washing process. If this section doesn’t answer your questions, please send us a note - support@deckshield.com.
For more in depth discussions on several topics, you can also view the "Deckshield Reports" section of this site.
1) Are chemical cleaners used in conjunction with the pressure washing?
We try not to use chemical cleaners if at all avoidable. Most notably, we NEVER use bleach. In most cases, pressure washing alone is sufficient in removing most surface contaminates yet chemical cleaners may need to be used on mold/mildew stains. We prefer to use Sodium Percarbonate when in need of chemical cleaning. Sodium Percarbonate is a non-chlorine based bleach that is commonly called Oxy Wash. This won’t hurt the plants, grass or house but is good with stain reduction.
2) My deck has "rings" on it where the flower pots sat and by the feet of my wrought iron furniture. Can you get these out?
We are capable of diminishing the "rings" but even using chemical cleaners, they may be visible when we are finished cleaning. These little rings have caused us much discussion over the years and the simple answer is we do our best to get them out but don’t make any guarantees that they will be completely removed. Again, chemical cleaning can help but maybe not in removing them completely.
