Deckshield was started in 1989 and initially was intended to simply be a water sealing company.  There were virtually no competitors in the market at that point and we experienced rapid growth simply water sealing old and new decks.  Within a year, we developed the pressure washing process as a means by which to return a deck to it's original color by removing all of the dirt and mildew from the surface of the lumber.  The results were magical whereby decks as old as fifteen years with a severe build up of algae and mildew could be restored to natural wood tones.  Deckshield became a full fledged deck maintenance company and when word began to get out, soon became overwhelmed with business.  As the saying goes, the rest is history!

Deckshield has currently serviced over 10,000 decks and according to deck care product manufacturers, this number is unrivaled by any firm nationwide.  It has been estimated that approximately 25% of all homes in the United States have a wood deck which, in terms of the opportunity in the deck care industry, is staggering.  In fact, exterior decks have rapidly become one of the most popular home improvement items nationally!

The success of Deckshield led us to expand the idea in the development of the Deck Care Network.  Our goal is to further develop the deck maintenance market and provide interested contractors and homeowners with consistent and accurate information about proper deck maintenance.  The information you will find on our site represents the compilation of everything we have learned over the past 18 years.  We are proud to say that that the Deckshield Network is currently the industry standard in deck maintenance nationwide and as the market continues to grow, the Deckshield Network will aggressively seek the most up to date methods of deck care available.
